Epiphan Pearl Mini
Professional all-in-one live production system with 7-inch touchscreen. Switch, record and stream up to 3 HD inputs — HDMI, SDI and USB — simultaneously without a PC.
- All-in-one switcher, encoder, recorder and streamer — no separate PC, capture card or switching software required at the production position
- 3 simultaneous HD inputs — one HDMI, one SDI and one USB camera input, all active at once with real-time switching via the touchscreen
- 7-inch touchscreen interface — operate the entire production from the front panel with live previews of all inputs and one-tap source switching
- Hardware H.264 and H.265 encoder — real-time encoding without software, streaming to SRT, RTMP, HLS and RTSP simultaneously
- NDI|HX input support — receive NDI sources over the network as an additional input without extra hardware
- Remote control via Epiphan Edge — manage the Pearl Mini from any browser for unattended or remote recording and streaming
What is the Epiphan Pearl Mini?
The Pearl Mini is a self-contained live production appliance from Epiphan — a single box that replaces a switcher, an encoder, a recorder and a PC in a production workflow. It accepts up to three HD input sources simultaneously, switches between them via its built-in 7-inch touchscreen, encodes the output in hardware, and delivers it to streaming platforms, recording media and remote monitoring destinations all at once.
It is designed for environments where simplicity and reliability are paramount — lecture halls, houses of worship, corporate event spaces and broadcast facilities where the operator may not be a technical specialist, and where a complex multi-device setup creates failure points and training overhead.
Three inputs, one device
The Pearl Mini's three inputs — HDMI, SDI and USB — cover the majority of camera types encountered in professional AV environments. A presenter camera via HDMI, a broadcast camera via SDI, and a USB webcam or document camera can all be connected simultaneously and switched between live during a production.
Record and stream simultaneously
The Pearl Mini records to SD card while streaming to multiple destinations at the same time. Both recording and streaming use hardware H.264 or H.265 encoding — there is no software processing load, and the device runs quietly with no fan noise. Recordings can be downloaded via the web interface or accessed over the network.
Epiphan Edge remote management
Every Pearl Mini can be managed remotely via Epiphan Edge, Epiphan's cloud-based device management platform. Schedule recordings, monitor stream health, push configuration changes and retrieve recordings from any location without physical access to the device. This makes the Pearl Mini well-suited to permanently installed environments where local IT management is impractical.

The Pearl Mini replaces a multi-device production chain with a single appliance. It suits any environment where reliable, low-complexity live production is required without a dedicated technical operator.
Lecture Capture and Streaming
Install a Pearl Mini in a lecture hall with a fixed HDMI camera and a USB document camera. The Pearl Mini switches, records to SD card and streams to Panopto, Kaltura or YouTube simultaneously — all without a PC in the room.
Houses of Worship
A single Pearl Mini handles camera switching, recording of services and live streaming to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously. The touchscreen interface is operated by volunteer production teams without technical training.
Corporate Events
Stream and record presentations, panels and keynote events from corporate studios, conference rooms and event spaces. The Pearl Mini's web interface allows remote monitoring and control from an AV desk or remote location.
Broadcast and Production
Use as a compact contribution encoder in a broadcast workflow, accepting SDI from a broadcast camera and streaming to SRT for remote production or contribution to a master control room.
Government and Public Sector
Record committee meetings, public inquiries and council sessions reliably with an unattended Pearl Mini. Automatic recording schedules via Epiphan Edge ensure recordings start without operator intervention.
AV Integrators
Specify the Pearl Mini for clients who need a single-box AV production solution for permanent installation in lecture theatres, meeting rooms and presentation spaces without the complexity of a multi-component system.
Does the Pearl Mini require a PC to operate?
No. The Pearl Mini is a self-contained production appliance. All switching, encoding, recording and streaming happens inside the device. A PC or laptop is only needed for initial configuration via the web interface and for using Epiphan Edge for remote management.
Can it stream to multiple platforms at once?
Yes. The Pearl Mini can stream to multiple simultaneous RTMP/RTMPS and SRT destinations. You can stream to YouTube and Facebook Live at the same time, for example, along with a direct SRT feed to a remote production facility.
Does it support NDI?
The Pearl Mini supports NDI|HX input — meaning it can receive an NDI source from the network as one of its input channels. It also outputs NDI|HX so its switched output can be received by other NDI-capable devices on the network.
How is it managed remotely?
Via Epiphan Edge (cloud-based management platform) or via its local web interface accessible from any browser on the same network. Remote management via Epiphan Edge allows full configuration, monitoring and scheduling from any location.
The Pearl Mini is a self-contained production system — streaming software runs inside the device itself, not on a connected PC. Compatible software applies to platforms that receive the Pearl Mini stream.
