Inogeni 4KXUSB3
4K HDMI to USB 3.0 capture with integrated VISCA PTZ camera control. Professional driverless UVC device for conference rooms and broadcast with 4K30 or 1080p60 capture.
- 4K HDMI capture at 4K30 or 1080p60 — covers both the 4K resolution required for 4K PTZ cameras and the 1080p60 frame rate preferred for smooth video conferencing
- VISCA PTZ camera control over USB — control PTZ cameras with VISCA RS-232 commands via the same USB cable as the video signal, eliminating a separate control connection
- Driverless UVC — recognised on Windows, macOS and Linux without driver installation, works immediately with Teams, Zoom, OBS and all UVC software
- Professional build quality — designed for permanent installation in conference rooms, lecture theatres and production environments
- Compatible with all 4K PTZ cameras with HDMI output and VISCA RS-232 control — covers the majority of professional conference cameras
- Field upgradeable to 4K60 capture — the 4KXUSB3 can be upgraded to 4K60 capture capability via firmware if required for higher frame rate 4K workflows
What is the Inogeni 4KXUSB3?
The 4KXUSB3 is Inogeni's professional 4K HDMI to USB 3.0 capture device with integrated VISCA PTZ control. It is designed for conference rooms and lecture theatres where a 4K PTZ camera is the primary source — capturing its HDMI output for video conferencing while simultaneously controlling its pan, tilt and zoom via the same USB cable.
The combination of video capture and camera control over a single USB connection simplifies installation: only one cable runs from the PC or laptop to the 4KXUSB3, and from there a coax for the HDMI and an RS-232 cable for PTZ control run to the camera. No separate serial port or USB-to-serial adapter is needed on the PC.
Field upgradeable to 4K60
The 4KXUSB3 is field upgradeable from 4K30 to 4K60 capture — a firmware update rather than a hardware replacement enables 4K60 capture if your workflow requires it. This protects the initial investment if requirements change after deployment.
Difference from the 4KX-PLUS
The 4KX-PLUS adds BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting) mode and HDMI loop-through output on top of the 4KXUSB3's core feature set. If BYOM and loop-through are not required and VISCA PTZ control is the primary additional need, the 4KXUSB3 is the appropriate specification.

The 4KXUSB3 is the right choice for conference rooms and lecture theatres with 4K PTZ cameras requiring integrated VISCA control over USB.
Conference Room PTZ Integration
Connect a 4K PTZ camera to the 4KXUSB3 — one USB cable carries both the video capture to the conferencing PC and the VISCA PTZ control commands back to the camera.
Lecture Theatre PTZ Camera
Control and capture a lecture theatre PTZ camera from the lecturer's or AV operator's PC via USB, without a separate RS-232 serial control connection.
Production and Streaming
Capture 4K PTZ cameras for live streaming production, with camera control available from the production PC without additional hardware.
AV Integrators
Specify for conference room deployments requiring 4K capture and PTZ control without the complexity of a separate serial port or USB-to-serial adapter.
Clinical Video Conferencing
Integrate a 4K clinical camera into telemedicine and consultation workflows with camera control from the clinical workstation.
Government and Corporate
Deploy in high-specification meeting rooms where 4K PTZ camera control and capture from a single USB connection is a system integration requirement.
What is the difference between the 4KXUSB3 and the 4KX-PLUS?
The 4KX-PLUS adds BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting) mode and HDMI loop-through to the 4KXUSB3's feature set. If your conference room does not need BYOM or a loop-through to a room display, the 4KXUSB3 is the appropriate specification.
How is the 4KXUSB3 upgraded to 4K60?
The 4K60 upgrade is a firmware update that can be applied in the field without returning the device. Contact us or Inogeni directly for the upgrade process and any associated licensing.
Inogeni capture devices are UVC compliant and work with any application that accepts a webcam or capture source, including all major video conferencing, streaming and editing platforms.
