What is the Kiloview E1-NDI?
The Kiloview E1-NDI converts SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI broadcast camera signals into Full NDI streams on a Gigabit LAN, powered from the network cable via PoE. It is the SDI variant of the compact Kiloview PoE NDI encoder range — where the E2-NDI accepts HDMI, the E1-NDI accepts broadcast SDI.
The E1-NDI is the correct choice when integrating existing broadcast cameras into an NDI production workflow without replacing the cameras themselves. The SDI output of the camera connects to the E1-NDI BNC input; a single Cat 6 cable from the nearest PoE switch provides both network and power.
Automatic SDI format detection
The E1-NDI automatically detects and handles SD-SDI (270 Mbps), HD-SDI (1.485 Gbps) and 3G-SDI (2.97 Gbps). No manual signal format selection is required — the device detects the incoming signal from the camera automatically.
NDI migration without replacing cameras
A primary use case for the E1-NDI is enabling NDI production infrastructure in a facility that already has SDI cameras. Rather than replacing working broadcast cameras, the E1-NDI allows each SDI camera to become an NDI source at the cost of the encoder and a Cat 6 cable. The NDI infrastructure — production software, switches, displays via decoders — can then be built around it.
Comparison with Magewell Pro Convert SDI Plus

Does the E1-NDI support all SDI formats automatically?
Yes — the E1-NDI automatically detects and handles SD-SDI (576i/480i), HD-SDI (720p and 1080i/p to 30fps) and 3G-SDI (1080p50/60) without manual format selection. Connect the SDI cable from the camera and the device locks on to the camera output signal automatically.
What is the difference between E1-NDI and E2-NDI?
The only difference is the input connector and signal type. The E1-NDI accepts SDI via BNC for broadcast cameras. The E2-NDI accepts HDMI for consumer and prosumer cameras, laptops and AV equipment. Both are PoE powered, both output Full NDI and NDI|HX, and both are otherwise identical in network behaviour and web management.
Can the E1-NDI be used with a 3G-SDI camera at 1080p60?
Yes. The E1-NDI supports 3G-SDI at up to 1920x1080 at 60fps. 3G-SDI (SMPTE 424M) is required for 1080p50 and 1080p60 — HD-SDI supports only up to 1080p30. Ensure your camera is configured to output 3G-SDI at the required frame rate.
How does the E1-NDI compare to the Magewell Pro Convert SDI Plus?
The Magewell Pro Convert SDI Plus additionally outputs SRT and RTMP simultaneously with NDI, and includes an SDI loop-through output. The E1-NDI is a dedicated NDI encoder without SRT, RTMP or loop-through. If you need internet streaming or a local SDI monitoring feed from the same device, the Pro Convert SDI Plus is the correct specification.
Does the E1-NDI include the embedded SDI audio in the NDI stream?
Yes. The E1-NDI de-embeds AES/EBU audio from the SDI signal and includes it in the NDI stream. In receiving software such as vMix or OBS, the audio appears alongside the video and can be mixed and output normally.
The E1-NDI outputs Full NDI and NDI|HX to any NDI production software and device on the same Gigabit subnet.
