What is the Kiloview E2-NDI?
The Kiloview E2-NDI converts an HDMI camera or source into a Full NDI stream on a Gigabit LAN. It is a standalone device powered from the network cable via PoE — no PC, no software and no additional cabling required at the camera position.
It supports both Full NDI (approximately 100 to 150 Mbps at 1080p60) and NDI|HX (H.265 compressed, lower bandwidth) — selectable in the web management interface. Full NDI is the correct choice for production networks with Gigabit infrastructure. NDI|HX is available where bandwidth is constrained.
PoE — one cable simplicity
Powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3af) from the connected switch. The only physical connection at the camera position is a Cat 6 cable from the nearest PoE switch port — no power outlet, no adapter, no mains run. For installations in lecture theatres, operating rooms and studios, this simplifies the installation considerably.
Auto-discovery on the LAN
The E2-NDI uses mDNS for automatic NDI source discovery. Connect it to your Gigabit switch, power on, and within seconds it appears in the NDI source list of vMix, OBS (with NDI plugin), Wirecast and Magewell Director on the same subnet. No manual IP entry required.
HDMI input compatibility
Accepts HDMI 1.4 input at resolutions up to 1920x1080 at 60fps. Compatible with HDMI cameras, PTZ cameras, laptops, presentation sources, gaming consoles and any HDMI-compliant device. For 4K HDMI, see the Kiloview U40 4K NDI encoder.

The E2-NDI adds any HDMI camera to an NDI production network without a PC at the camera position. PoE power makes it particularly practical for permanent installations.
Lecture Theatre Camera Integration
Mount the E2-NDI at the camera position. A single Cat 6 cable from a PoE switch powers the device and carries the NDI stream to Panopto, Kaltura or a production PC anywhere on the campus network — no HDMI cable run across the room required.

What is the difference between the E2-NDI and the Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus?
Both are HDMI-to-NDI PoE encoders. The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI Plus (available from PS383 ex-VAT) additionally outputs SRT and RTMP simultaneously with NDI — useful when you also need to stream to the internet from the same device. The E2-NDI is a dedicated NDI encoder without SRT or RTMP output. Contact us to discuss which is more appropriate for your specific workflow.
Does the E2-NDI output Full NDI or NDI|HX?
The E2-NDI supports both Full NDI and NDI|HX — selectable in the web management interface. Full NDI provides functionally lossless quality at approximately 100 to 150 Mbps at 1080p60. NDI|HX uses H.265 compression at 5 to 30 Mbps for bandwidth-constrained networks.
What PoE standard does the E2-NDI require?
The E2-NDI requires IEEE 802.3af PoE from the connected switch or a PoE injector. Most modern managed Gigabit switches include 802.3af PoE. 802.3at (PoE+) switches are also compatible — they supply more power than the device needs, which causes no issue.
How does the E2-NDI appear in vMix or OBS?
Once connected to the same Gigabit subnet as your production PC, it appears automatically as an NDI source in vMix under Network, in OBS Studio (NDI plugin) under Source, and in Wirecast under Add Source. No manual IP configuration is required on the receiving software.
The E2-NDI outputs Full NDI and NDI|HX, compatible with all NDI production software and any NDI-aware device on the same network subnet.
