What is the YoloBox Extreme?
The YoloBox Extreme is YoloLiv's flagship live production system — the most capable self-contained portable studio available. Where the YoloBox Pro handles a small event with three cameras and the Ultra handles 4K streaming with four cameras, the Extreme is designed for large-scale professional productions: 8-camera sports broadcasts, multi-track concert streams, complex conference productions and anywhere that would previously have required a production truck or a full team of operators with separate switchers, encoders and replay systems.
The 11.2-inch 2.5K OLED display at 120Hz and 1000 nits is a fundamental upgrade over the LCD screens on other YoloBox models. At 1000 nits it is genuinely usable in direct sunlight — critical for outdoor sports and events — and the 120Hz refresh makes real-time camera switching feel precise and responsive rather than sluggish.
4K ISO recording per input
ISO recording means every individual camera input is recorded as a completely separate 4K file simultaneously with the live mixed program stream. A production with 8 HDMI cameras generates 8 independent 4K recordings plus the mixed output. In post-production, editors have every angle at 4K to work from — not just the switched program output.
Instant replay without additional hardware
The Extreme includes a multicam instant replay system covering up to 6 cameras at 1080p60 — built into the device with no external server, no replay workstation and no additional operator. During a live sports broadcast, the operator can trigger a replay from any of the 6 cameras directly from the touchscreen within seconds of the action occurring. The replay plays into the live stream while the production continues on the other cameras.
Director Mode
Director Mode gives the Extreme a dedicated Preview window alongside the Program output — the standard broadcast production workflow where the next source is previewed before being cut live. This makes the Extreme genuinely usable for broadcast-standard live production where cutting blind is not acceptable.
Voice Follow Audio (VFA)
VFA automatically follows the active camera speaker and adjusts audio mixing accordingly — useful for panel discussions, interviews and sports commentary where multiple audio sources are active.

The YoloBox Extreme is built for complex, professional-scale live productions where input count, replay capability and recording quality matter.
Large-Scale Sports Broadcasting
8-camera live sports production with instant replay. Cover football, rugby, basketball and other multi-angle sports with professional replay from up to 6 cameras triggered during the live stream — without a separate replay workstation.
Concert and Festival Production
Multi-camera live concert streams with 8 HDMI cameras plus NDI sources from the venue network. Director Mode allows professional preview-before-cut operation for live music broadcasts.
Conference and Summit Broadcasting
Large conference productions with main stage camera, multiple panel cameras, a presentation screen feed and remote NDI sources — all switched live with graphics, lower thirds and chroma key from one device.
Large Houses of Worship
Houses of worship with 4 or more cameras across a main sanctuary, balcony, stage and close-up positions — all streamed live to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously with instant replay for musical moments.
Outside Broadcast and OB Units
Replace a full OB van setup with a single YoloBox Extreme for small OB operations. Cellular bonding maintains stream reliability from any remote location without fixed internet infrastructure.
University Events and Graduation
Large university events requiring multi-camera production, ISO recording for all cameras and simultaneous streaming to multiple platforms for remote attendees.
How many cameras can I connect to the YoloBox Extreme?
The Extreme accepts 8 HDMI cameras, 3 USB cameras and up to 6 NDI HX sources from the local network simultaneously — 17 potential sources in total. For comparison, the YoloBox Ultra accepts 4 HDMI + 2 USB + 3 NDI (9 total), and the YoloBox Pro accepts 3 HDMI + 1 USB + optional NDI (up to 5).
What does 4K ISO recording mean?
ISO recording means every individual camera input is recorded as its own separate 4K video file at the same time as the live mixed stream. An 8-camera production generates 8 independent 4K recordings plus the mixed program output — editors receive complete footage from every angle for post-production.
Can I do instant replay during a live stream?
Yes. The Extreme's built-in instant replay system covers up to 6 cameras at 1080p60. The replay operator can trigger a replay from any of those cameras during the live production. The replay plays into the live stream while the other cameras continue feeding the production.
Does the YoloBox Extreme require any external software or PC?
No. The Extreme is completely self-contained — it has its own operating system, hardware encoder, video switcher, graphics engine and streaming system built in. A PC is only needed if you want to control it remotely via YoloLiv's remote control feature.
How does cellular bonding work on the Extreme?
The Extreme bonds multiple internet connections — a SIM card (4G/5G LTE), WiFi, Ethernet and a USB modem — into one reliable combined uplink. If one connection drops, the others maintain the stream automatically. The bonded connections act as one higher-bandwidth, more reliable connection than any single source alone.
YoloBox Extreme streams to platforms directly — no PC or streaming software required. NDI HX output and SRT are also available for integration with professional production workflows.
Streaming Platforms (simultaneous)NDI|HX output allows this YoloBox model to send its mixed program output to vMix, OBS Studio or any NDI-receiving software on the local network as an additional destination alongside internet streaming platforms.
