Kiloview M2 HDMI and VGA Dual Input Encoder
Encode HDMI and VGA sources simultaneously — camera on HDMI and laptop presentation on VGA, mixed and streamed in one encoder. Designed for lecture capture and AV.
- Simultaneous HDMI and VGA inputs — connect HDMI camera and VGA laptop at the same time, both encoded in one device
- Picture-in-picture or side-by-side mixing — combine sources into a single stream without a separate switcher
- VGA input — for lecture theatres where VGA laptops and projectors coexist with HDMI cameras
- H.264 hardware encoding — reliable, broadly compatible for Panopto and Kaltura lecture capture
- SRT, RTMP, RTSP, HLS and ONVIF output — compatible with all major lecture capture and IP video platforms
- ONVIF support — integrates into institutional IP video management systems
What is the Kiloview M2?
The M2 is a dual-input H.264 encoder accepting both HDMI and VGA simultaneously — designed for lecture theatres where a camera (HDMI) and presentation laptop (VGA) both need to be captured and streamed together. Addresses the practical problem that VGA remains common on presentation laptops and older lecture theatre equipment, while cameras use HDMI.
ONVIF for institutional AV
ONVIF is the standard used by IP camera management systems in universities, hospitals and government facilities. The M2's ONVIF support allows management by the same platform managing IP cameras throughout the facility. RTSP and RTMP outputs are compatible with Panopto, Kaltura, YuJa and similar lecture capture platforms.

The M2 is designed for lecture capture and AV where HDMI cameras and VGA presentations both need encoding simultaneously.
Lecture Theatre Capture
Encode lecture camera (HDMI) and presentation laptop (VGA) simultaneously.
Government Training Rooms
Capture in rooms where VGA remains the presentation standard alongside HDMI cameras.
Medical Training
HDMI surgical camera and VGA medical workstation presentation simultaneously.
Corporate Training
Presenter camera (HDMI) and screen sharing (VGA) mixed into one stream for remote participants.
Hybrid Events
Presenter camera and laptop presentation captured and streamed simultaneously.
AV Integration
Specified for HDMI and VGA dual-input encoding with ONVIF management in institutional AV.
Can the M2 mix HDMI and VGA into one picture?
Yes — picture-in-picture or side-by-side layouts, configured in the web management interface.
Why does the M2 have VGA input?
VGA remains common in older lecture theatre AV systems and institutional presentation environments. The M2 is designed for environments where both HDMI and VGA are present simultaneously.
The M2 outputs via RTSP and RTMP to lecture capture platforms and integrates via ONVIF.
