Ultra-Compact NDI Encoding at the Source

The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI TX solves a specific installation challenge — converting an HDMI source to NDI in locations where the standard Pro Convert HDMI Plus chassis is too large to fit. Camera HDMI outputs, monitor rear panels, confidence display connections and tight equipment rack positions all benefit from a converter that mounts directly at the HDMI port.

By placing the HDMI-to-NDI conversion at the source, the Pro Convert HDMI TX eliminates the need for long HDMI cable runs across a venue or facility. Instead, a single Ethernet cable carries both power and the NDI video stream from the conversion point to the network — significantly simplifying installation and reducing cable infrastructure.

NDI, SRT and RTMP Simultaneously

The Pro Convert HDMI TX outputs Full NDI, NDI|HX and NDI|HX2 simultaneously, making the HDMI source available to every NDI-compatible application on the network — vMix, Wirecast, OBS with NDI plugin, NDI Tools, Vizrt and any NDI-enabled switcher or monitor.

SRT and RTMP outputs are also available simultaneously, enabling cloud streaming, CDN contribution and internet distribution alongside the local NDI workflow from the same compact encoder.

What makes the HDMI TX different from the Pro Convert HDMI Plus?

The Pro Convert HDMI Plus (£383) is a standard-size compact encoder designed for rack, shelf or equipment room deployment. The Pro Convert HDMI TX (£323) is ultra-compact, designed to mount directly at the HDMI source — on a camera, at a monitor output or in a tight space where the standard chassis would not fit. The TX is also less expensive due to its compact design.

Does it need a separate power supply?

No. The Pro Convert HDMI TX is powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet). A single Ethernet cable from a PoE switch or PoE injector provides both network connectivity and power. No separate power adapter or mains connection is required at the encoder — a significant advantage for mounting in tight or elevated positions.

What NDI versions does it support?

The Pro Convert HDMI TX outputs Full NDI, NDI|HX and NDI|HX2 — all three NDI generations simultaneously. This ensures compatibility with every NDI-capable application and device regardless of which NDI version they support.

Can it stream to YouTube or Facebook at the same time as NDI?
