The Magewell Pro Capture Dual SDI 4K Plus is the top of the Pro Capture SDI range — two simultaneous 12G-SDI channels at 4K60, from a single PCIe card, with genlock for broadcast facility integration. This is the card specified for the most demanding dual-camera 4K SDI broadcast ingest workstations.
12G-SDI carries 4K UHD at 60fps on a single BNC cable — the format used by top-specification broadcast cameras including Sony VENICE 2, Arri Alexa 35 and the highest-tier broadcast PTZ and studio cameras. Having two of these channels simultaneously on one PCIe card gives a broadcast workstation the capture capability to match the most demanding 4K SDI productions.
Both channels are completely independent — each captures its own 12G-SDI source at full 4K60, presents as a separate capture device to the host, and is individually accessible to software applications. The Magewell SDK additionally provides frame-synchronised access across both channels for applications that require precise timing alignment between two 4K SDI sources.
