Ultra-Compact SDI Encoding at the Camera
The Magewell Pro Convert SDI TX is the ultra-compact version of the Pro Convert SDI encoder — designed specifically for deployment directly at the SDI camera output, in tight cable positions and in locations where the standard Pro Convert SDI Plus chassis is too large.
Camera-mounted SDI outputs, cable positions in crowded equipment racks, field camera positions and remote camera heads in tight locations all benefit from an encoder that attaches directly to the SDI BNC connector. A single Ethernet cable then carries both PoE power and the NDI video stream back from the camera position, eliminating the need for a separate power circuit or long SDI cable runs.
SDI to NDI — Cost-Effective at Scale
At £332, the Pro Convert SDI TX is the most affordable SDI to NDI encoder in the Pro Convert range, making it practical to deploy at scale across large numbers of camera positions. A venue or facility with many SDI cameras can convert each one to NDI at source with per-unit cost significantly lower than alternatives.
The PoE power option amplifies this benefit — no separate power infrastructure is needed at each camera position, reducing installation cost proportionally as the number of encoding points increases.
