PCIe SDI Capture for Broadcast Workstations
The Magewell Pro Capture SDI is a single-channel 3G-SDI PCIe capture card — the SDI equivalent of the Pro Capture HDMI. It installs inside a desktop workstation or server via a PCIe slot, providing permanently integrated, low-latency SDI capture without the overhead of USB-based external devices.
In broadcast environments where SDI is the signal standard of every camera and piece of infrastructure, an internal PCIe SDI capture card is the architecturally correct solution for a dedicated ingest workstation. The Pro Capture SDI becomes part of the workstation hardware — always present, always connected, always ready.
SDI + Linux — The Server Choice
The Pro Capture SDI is driverless on Linux via the V4L2 kernel framework, making it the ideal choice for Linux-based broadcast ingest servers. Automated ingest systems, playout servers and custom SDI capture pipelines on Linux can address the Pro Capture SDI directly as a V4L2 device without any proprietary driver maintenance.
